Retreat Day: Lent in lockdown

If the lost word is lost, if the spent word is spent
If the unheard, unspoken
Word is unspoken, unheard;
Still is the unspoken word, the Word unheard,
The Word without a word, the Word within
The world and for the world;
And the light shone in darkness and
Against the Word the unstilled world still whirled
About the centre of the silent Word.

TS Eliot, Ash Wednesday V

In lockdown, we are not allowed to go ‘out’: how may we allow ourselves to go ‘in’?

How can lockdown be an opportunity to enter more deeply into Lent?

How may we hear the silent Word at the centre of our unstilled world?

I am offering a day of prayer and reflection as we enter the journey of Lent.

It is my hope and intention the we will come closer to God and allow ourselves to be led into Lent. I will lead some reflections. There will be times to think, reflect, and pray alone. There will be gentle and safe opportunities to share with a few others.

I am offering this day twice: Friday 19th and Saturday 20th February. There will be a maximum of 24 spaces on each day. If you are interested in attending, please email retreat@thisbody.info (or use the Contact Page) saying whether you prefer Friday or Saturday or could do either.

Venue: Zoom sessions interspersed with times alone
Dates: 19 or 20 February 2021
Times: 9.30am–5.30pm GMT
Cost: £30 (This is the suggested contribution. Please pay what you can reasonably afford.)
